Eng. M. Aboud, ASTF Cairo Office Business Development Manager & MIA Competition Chairman
M. Aboud was vice chair for IEEE Zagazig Student Brach, IEEE R8 SBC2002 Chair, IEEE GOLD Egypt Chair since 2002 to 2006,
IEEE R8 GOLD team coordinator for North Africa and Medial East since 2005. He is a member of IEEE communications society,
and a member of IEEE management society. After the university he joined a national company as a technical engineer, then
he established R&D department that developed many products in (wireless communication, remote metering and data messaging),
concurrently with these responsibilities, he formed the IEEE Egypt GOLD affinity group that aims to promote the engineering
process in creating, developing, integrating, sharing, and applying knowledge for the benefit the Egyptian community, it also
aims to encourage entrepreneurship concept among engineers and implements programs that help them start their own business.
GOLD was established in Egypt in 2002 and now it becomes the most active GOLD affinity group in the whole IEEE region 8,
which contains Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Aboud, ASTF Cairo office Business Development Manager, has now over 10 years experience in R&D activities and project
management, he worked as a developer, R&D manger and business development manger in wireless communication, remote metering,
GIS and system integration. Aboud is the recipient of many awards including the IEEE regional Achievement award for year 2006,
IEEE Egypt Section award on the occasion of 50 years jubilee, as one of the leading achievers from around the globe his biography
includes in the Who's Who in the World, 25th Anniversary Edition.

Chairman
Eng. Ahmed Mikkawi, Core Networks Sales Manager, Ericsson
Ahmed Mikkawi is a Telecommunications Engineer who is currently working for Ericsson Egypt as Core Networks Sales Manager.
Since graduating from Faculty of Engineering (Electronics & Electrical communication department) at Cairo University in 2001
and apart from his freelance experience in software development, Ahmed has worked also for IDX, Alcatel Egypt and Alcatel Pakistan.
Ahmed’s interest in community development activities started long time ago but were seriously evident while starting-up with
his colleagues at college the well known Resala NGO. Since year 1998 Ahmed has been an IEEE student member, but has started his
voluntary contributions in 2002 while organizing the “Region 8 Student Branch Congress “and the “First Region 8 GOLD meeting”
in Egypt. Afterwards he became one of the main cornerstones in organizing the EED since it has started in 2002.
He has contributed significantly in developing the Vision and Mission for the GOLD in general and for the EED in specific
and has worked out the organizational structures for them. Ahmed also contributed to the Fund Raising, Public Speaking,
and media communications activities. Ahmed’s motif and passion that has developed from his 6 years experience with the
IEEE revolves around the idea of spreading the entrepreneurship culture amongst the engineering society as the main vehicle
for Egypt to improve its Economical and Research & Development capabilities. Ahmed is currently pursuing his Master
of Science degree in Management of Technology at Nile University to consolidate his experience with an academic background
that will help him accomplish his goals.

Past Chairman and Executive Board Member
Eng. Nahel Mohamed Amirah, Teacher Assistance, Biomedical Engineering Dept., HTI
Nahel received his B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering and Computers from Higher Technological Institute,
10th of Ramadan City, Egypt in 2000. In 1999, he accredited an internship at Institute of Information Theory and
Automation, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, Prague, Czech Republic. He finished his military service as
Research Assistant at Department of Research and Development, Egyptian Air Force (EAF), Cairo, Egypt in 2004.
Currently, he is a teaching assistant at Biomedical Engineering department, Higher Technological Institute and he is
an associated part time with “Arab Science and Technology Foundation (ASTF)”.
He has been honored by many organizations, including Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, Cairo, Egypt,
IEEE Egypt Section, Arab Science and Technology Foundation, UAE and The American University in Cairo, Cairo, Egypt.
He started his IEEE volunteering history from more than 10 years as a founder and chair of Higher Technological Institute student branch,
then he was the student representative of IEEE in Egypt section, and last year he was the Chairman of IEEE Egypt GOLD.
Now, He is the Past Chair of IEEE Egypt GOLD & Membership Development, IEEE Egypt Section Electronic Comm.
and Members Activities Coordinator for CIS Egypt Chapter. His primary research skills and interests are in the fields
of: Fuzzy Logic Systems and Control, Fuzzy Hardware, Robotics, and Computer Controlled System.

Treasurer
Eng. Mohamed Yousry, IT Infrastructure Admin Engineer, Orange Group
Mohamed is an electronics and telecommunications engineer as of 2002. He was graduated in Alexandria University
and got his Computer networks diploma from the iTi by 2003. Since 2006 up to date he has been working in Orange as
an IT Infrastructure Admin Engineer.
As an IEEE GOLD member, he was present at the EED since 2002 till 2007 in
different positions starting a Volunteer, ending in EED Treasurer Position. He has also participated in MIE
initiations in 2005, member of executive coordinators Team 2006, He has also been elected as the GOLD Treasurer
through the year 2007.

Secretary
Eng. Shaimaa Yehia, Embedded Software Engineer, IBM
Shaimaa is an electronics and telecommunications engineer as of 2003. She was graduated in Cairo University and
got her VLSI diploma from the iTi by 2004. Since 2005 up to date she has been working in IBM-Egypt as an embedded
software engineer. As an IEEE GOLD member, she was present at the Egyptian Engineering Day or the EED since 2003
till 2007 in different positions starting a Volunteer, ending in EED Vice-Chairman and passing by Industry Relations,
Press Relations, Public Relations and Marketing positions. She has also participated in the Made In Egypt or the
MIE competitions initiations in 2005, member of MIE advisory board by 2006, shared in the Made in Arabia or the
MIA finals preparations in 2007 as a joint project between ASTF and GOLD, shared in organizing “The annual Egyptian
GOLD Dinner” or the EGD for the years 2006 and 2007.
She has also been elected as the GOLD Secretary through the
year 2007. She has invested a bulk of time in developing GOLD’s vision & mission in Egypt with her GOLD colleagues
and effectively aided in putting GOLD’s organizational structure. With her creativity and continuous enthusiasm,
Shaimaa has added to the success of GOLD public relations and has built – with the aid of the various teams she
worked with – strong channels with different parties including industry, press and media contacts bearing all trust
and respect. Shaimaa is still proving loyalty and dedication to the AG as she graduates in the level of her
responsibilities in the IEEE Egypt GOLD affinity group year after the other.

Egyptian Engineering Day Chairman
Eng. Amr Ahmed Abdul-Kader, Presales Engineer, MTSE
Amr is an electronics and telecommunications engineer as of 2004. He was graduated from Zagazig University.
Since 2005 up to date he has been working in Modern Technology Supply & Engineering as a Presales & Technical
Support engineer.
As an IEEE GOLD member, he was present at the EED since 2003 till 2007 in different positions.

Made In Egypt Chairman
Eng. Tamer Darweesh, Embedded Software Engineer, SySDSoft
Tamer is an electronics and telecommunications engineer as of 2006. He was graduated in Cairo University and
started his master study in the field of Electronics and Computer Networks. Since 2006 up to date he has been
working in SySDSoft as an embedded software engineer. As an IEEE GOLD member, he was present at the Made In
Egypt – MIE – since 2006 till 2008 in different positions starting a Volunteer, ending in MIE Chairman and
passing by Editor, Training Coordinator, Industry Relations, and Marketing positions.
He has also participated in
MIA finals preparations in 2007 as a joint project between ASTF and GOLD, shared in organizing “Future Bridge”
project in cooperation with Trade Fairs International in Cairo ICT 2007.

Technical Activities Coordinator
Eng. Ahmed Hosni, Embedded Systems Project Lead, Quicktel
Ahmed is an electronics and telecommunications engineer as of 2002. He was graduated in Alexandria University and
got his PMP diploma by 2007 and now he is working in Quicktel R&D as embedded project leader.
As an IEEE GOLD member, he was present at the EED 2006 and EED 2007 as competition team leader. He also shared in
organizing “The annual Egyptian GOLD Dinner” or the EGD for the years 2006 and 2007. Ahmed is now coordinating
the 1st International Forum on Multicore-Manicore Technologies as GOLD is its local organizer in Egypt.
